We're moving, which means we need to declutter and cull. The biggest area to downsize? Books! I know, I should be ashamed for even considering it.
At one point I had about 1,000 books. Which is nothing compared to some other book lovers I know. I think two of my brothers have more than 5,000 volumes in their libraries.
I laugh at that meme that has some lady (no idea who she is, but claims to be some expert on decluttering) saying that no one should have more than 30 books. The response: I don't need that kind of negativity in my life. lol
So yeah, I want to keep my books but, as the saying goes, you can't take it with you. Especially when we are basically only taking two suitcases with us to our next destination. (More on our future travel and moving plans in upcoming blog posts.)
Which means, I'm getting rid of almost all of my books. Giving them away, donating them, selling them, begging others to come by and take them...
A long time ago in a friendlier eco-galaxy, Amazon let us sell used books through them. Now you have to pay and be a business and all that. Even FB marketplace is getting stingy and hard to work with. Ebay, don't even get me started. So I was on the search for somewhere to sell used books - and low and behold, my phone overheard me and an ad for PangoBooks popped up in my newsfeed. Intrusive, yes, but this time the AI worked.
I downloaded the app and set up my account. Check it out. I have a forgettable handle, lyn438966, and less than 20 books posted so far, but over the next few days and weeks, I'll get over 100 or so listed.
I'm even posting my own paperbacks! (Here's a screen shot of 3 of my books, plus one I published on behalf of my friend Gustavo Bondoni, Pale Reflection, a collection of dark fantasy.)
Might be a cool way to send signed copies to readers and make a bit more profit than through that company which shall not be named but which starts with an A.
Anyway, that's what I'm up to lately. Do you see a used paperback you want? Grab it through PangoBooks - or contact me directly, I guess. But maybe better to use the app. I haven't sold any yet through it and am eager to get the ball rolling! (And see if it works!*)
Do it soon, or I'll be begging you to come get what you want when our moving date arrives!
(* I posted a question in the PangoBooks app to other sellers - there's a discussion thread feature - and asked: So, anyone actually selling any books? And I had one person respond with yes, you can buy my books here... And I replied with, no, what I meant was, are people actually buying books through this app? lol A few have responded and assured me that yes, they are selling books via PB. We'll see!)

Keep it clean and positive. (And sorry about the word verification, but the spmb*ts are out in full force!)
