Worm Cover Options

Number 1
Number 2
Number 3

Worm is getting warm!

I'm almost done writing the first novella, the cover of which will likely be one of the illos to the left by Jordan Dyke, an up and coming graphic artist (and son-in-law!).

But I need your help. Which one do you like best?
+ Number 1 is the blue shirt, white name tag, paperback proportioned cover.
+ Number 2 is the brown shirt, cropped for ebook, showing more pocket.
+ Number 3 is the brown shirt, cropped for ebook, showing more collar.

I prefer Number 3 but in blue. Byline will have to go up top, though. What do you think?

BTW, here's the blurb:
Teased and timid, William Randall Monro, Worm to everyone who knows him, can't even stand up for himself. Bullied since grade school, 17 year old Worm is close to the breaking point. When his mom's latest boyfriend crosses the line, Worm decides to take a stand. He's finally realized he's got nothing to lose.

  1. I'd go with #3, but with just a little more of that loose thread showing...

  2. I agree with Milo on going with #3. Loose thread with that grainy background speaks to Worm's mental state. The blue with white label is too sharp and contrasting. Also, #3's threadbare look further enhances a sense of futility. Like the nothing to lose feeling your protagonist is going through. My 2.5 cents anyway.

  3. Whichever one you pick, I'd definitely go with blue, though...

  4. Thanks, Woelf and Todd. I may use two different color schemes - blue for the Worm novella and the brown for the whole collection of 4 novellas and the prequel. I guess I better get writing. :)

  5. Thanks, Stoney. I think I'll go with #3 and see if my graphic designer can soften the contrast for a blue work shirt.

Keep it clean and positive. (And sorry about the word verification, but the spmb*ts are out in full force!)
