Ann Coulter v John Edwards
That's nothing new. But the sarcastic banter truly has turned into a "dialog based on hatefulness and ugliness" to use the words of Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Senator John Edwards. Now Coulter's point on Monday's Good Morning America (see youtube) was meant as sarcasm (and a reference to Bill Maher's comment about Vice President Cheney) but that doesn't excuse it's inappropriateness.
This kind of personal name baiting really doesn't have a place in civilized discussion. But it does get a rise from people. If it didn't, people wouldn't engage in it. So the moral of the story: When will we simply learn to ignore people like Ann Coulter? I guess when we learn to ignore people like Rosie O'Donnell.

Keep it clean and positive. (And sorry about the word verification, but the spmb*ts are out in full force!)
